nbW Talk w/ Thaddeus Boyle

nbW Talk w/ Thaddeus Boyle
04/05/10
Also Starring | Trent McKnight

“Are you certain they want to hear this?”

Trent McKnight sat across from the nbW Promoter, the head honcho, Thaddeus Prometheus Boyle, for what was sure to be an eye-opening interview.

“The people asked for it. The Company believes putting you out there will serve as a benefactor placement going into the New Year.”

Thaddeus Boyle sat back in his chair and nervously adjusted the collar on his suit.

“How much longer?”

“We are streaming live now Mr. Boyle.” Trent pointed to the camera which showed it was active. “Shall we begin?”

“Yes please.”

Trent McKnight: Welcome my loyal followers of the interwebs. It is I, your sultan of the mic, no brand Wrestling’s reporter slash interviewer, Trent McKnight. And tonight marks the return of the nbW Talk, as well as a very special guest whom is none other than our illustrious boss himself- Thaddeus Prometheus Boyle.

Thaddeus Boyle: Thank you Trent. It is a pleasure to take part in the first nbW Talk of the 2010 year. Hopefully I will not bore our fans to death.

McKnight: I believe I speak for them all when I say that we want to hear from you Mr. Boyle. There has been little time for us to get to know you as the man behind the promotion, rather than in front of the camera. And that is what nbW Talk is all about.

Boyle: Thank you. And Thad or Boyle will suffice; you can drop the Mister part for the time being. Of course come showtime, you should know how to act.

McKnight: That I do Boyle. That I do. And you know I love this job. So let’s get moving along then. I think everyone would agree with me on this being the first and likely the most important question. ‘What were you doing before you came in no brand?’

Boyle: The truth to that is a bit more then The Company or even Xander Napoli may have led you to believe. While it is true that I have had prior experience to promoting for sporting events, and it is true that I have been involved with wrestling as well; but also that prior to the then-owners 3WA approaching Xander, they came to me.

McKnight: Napoli wasn’t the first choice then?

Boyle: To add insult to injury if you will, I was the one that suggested Napoli to them. Now that I assure you; you did not know.

McKnight: No. Wow. Who knew that the dictator only got the job from your referral!

Boyle: And even to this day it haunts him so. I expect that he was never even told about it. If he was, he just buried the thought in his brain. But enough about Napoli.

McKnight: If he did not before, he will upon reading this transcript. Or At least if he is watching this stream. But I agree enough on our former boss. Let’s talk about Full Effect 59 long delays.

Boyle: Heh. I know, we are working on getting our schedule conflicts fixated. Unfortunately this is the problem with using other arena’s to host your shows event. If a Boxing event or MMA-styled event is happening, we get the shove to the bottom of the list. Even the other guys, which if you will excuse my rule breaking by mentioning the competition, those other guys like All-Star Championship Wrestling, Fans Wrestling Organization, Dream Wrestling, High-Octane Wrestling; if any of them schedule a event during the same month, we have to sit back and wait.

McKnight: Are there plans to subdue this problem?

Boyle: Indeed. Those plans are already in motion. What you saw in the end of February was not only the last time you will see nbW in Kansas City, but also the last time we will be on the road. At least for the time being.

McKnight: I take it we will be setting our roots in?

Boyle: I understand you are asking this as an interviewer would, given that you already know that answer. But to answer the question, yes. No brand Wrestling is setting up shop in St. Louis at the newly built arena named The Epic II.

McKnight: Named after the original Epic, correct?

Boyle: Yes. After that tragic pyro accident burned down the old arena, new plans were set in motion to restore its’ lost honor and glory. That time is now upon us. With Ghosts out of the way, it is time to begin a new Chapter in nbW’s illustrious history.

McKnight: A New no brand Wrestling, as it were.

Boyle: Right. Many will look upon this move as a cost-cutter, which it is, but it is so much more than that. The one thing that nbW as a whole has missed out on these past few years is having a place to call home and come back to. We have been on the road non-stop. Flights canceled and rescheduled due to event scheduling conflicts and changes as well.

McKnight: I imagine it cost much more than it was worth with all the changes. This should work out much better for us, as a whole. Don’t you think?

Boyle: Agreed. Centralizing our base of operations will help us get a niche in the market again. It will also help us ensure a steady schedule that we can stick to as it is our Arena, not one shared with others unless we rent it out for a night. You never know.

McKnight: Well Ghosts has gone and passed on. It looks like many chapters have been closed in the book, but numerous others are just starting their titles.

Boyle: We saw quite a few debuts and arrivals at Ghosts. I can confirm that at least one of the figures you saw has signed a contract with no brand. We are not going to go out there and bash the other companies for not knowing how to care to their talent, but if you look at a guy like Remy Leroux, the guys down south had no idea how to use him and thus they lost him. But their loss is our gain. We also got Mr. MaX-Files himself back in he fold as well.

McKnight: And everybody loves them some Hopper-sandwiches.

Boyle: We have also just inked a deal with a leading provider of media to the internet. Starting in March our events will be streamed LIVE on Hulu dot come. This is a tremendous opportunity for nbW before we attempt a cable network deal again. Plus with everything on the web as it is today, this market ensures mainstream capabilities.

McKnight: That is great news. Well to wrap this up do you have anything else to add?

Boyle: Just to our fans. New and Old. Keep your eye on The Epic II for special promotions and deals for price of admission as well as the nbW website for the latest news, thoughts from the superstars, and other features that will be rolled out. Remember, this is your nbW.

McKnight: Terrific as always Mr. Boyle. Thank you for your time. Fans that is all the time we have for this week’s shortened edition of nbW Talk. Thank you for tuning in and we will see you again real soon.

“And we are clear.” Spoke McKnight as he loosened his tie, nearly forgetting he was still in presence of his boss. “So, how do you think it went?”

“Good,” spoke Boyle in turn. “I know we cut it shorter than normal and even bypassed the nbW Talk specific question trees but for what it was, it worked.”

“Great. So you think The Company will agree to the return of the nbW Talk show as a main stay?”

“After Ghosts, tonight, and the first live streamed show on Hulu – More than likely so.”

“We probably should have hyped the card, just a little bit.” Mentioned Trent McKnight as Boyle started to leave.

“We could have. Heck I could tell them all to tune in to the first five minutes, as it is something they do not want to miss.”

“That would have been awesome! Great way to attract the fans new and old to tune in.”

“Are we really that desperate to make a plea sounding cry of mercy?” Boyle turned the doorknob. “No. I will let our talent speak for us rather than some leaked out hype.”

With the door open Boyle left the room leaving McKnight to plan his next show.
