Good evening. If you can not tell by the title of this column being From The Promoters Perspective, my name is Thaddeus Prometheus Boyle; no Brand Wrestling’s head Promoter. The guy behind the scenes that keeps everything moving. And this fans, is my view. How often do you get to hear from the man behind the curtain, rather than an employee or reporter? Well when I was put in charge they asked me what type of changes I would like to make. One of those changes I mentioned was the ability to come to you all with something special and exclusive, away from the branding of Hulu or the company itself. You could say this is my Blog, so to speak. Enough of that though. You Ready? Let’s begin. Remy is a great athlete, and even better on the mic. Advent, the same can be said for him, should he ever sign a contract with nbW again rather than stick to these show by show payouts. Unfortunately the result of their impromptu fight ended up being a Draw. I checked with Tal and Oliver afterwards and we went over the tapes multiple times. It was just too close to call. The time limit expired just prior to ring officiator Tal Nedrick’s hand hitting the mat for the third time. These things happen, but hopefully next time—there will either be an extended timelimit or none at all. But what a way to kick off the show. I do realize that Hulu aired some exclusive footage of myself and two Italians from earlier in the week. This was not supposed to be filmed or aired. I am not sure who provided the security footage to Hulu.com, but this will be investigated. Moving forward we come to the expected epic showdown between the Ratings God and the Colossus himself. At least we had hoped so. Unfortunately due to travel restrictions following the Iceland Volcano’s eruption, we have not seen or heard from J. Leslie Voss since then. Saunders came to me with an idea of globe-trotting to try and find our Keystone champion, and we went with it. Obviously the turn about was rather entertaining, albeit unsuccessful in the search. Undoubtfully I will have to address this situation come Slam IV. Stay tuned. Now as many of you remember the nbW has partnered up with St. Louis’s own 4 Corners Wrestling, the 4CW, to train the superstars of tomorrow. I can admit that this setup has been rather slow as of late. We are actually finishing up on some paperwork, but we have finally established some grounds to move forward upon. Case in point, Alexandre Michelle Pierre and Elijah Buster. Both very promising talents coming to us from 4CW, and were offered a chance to be performing LIVE with an exhibition match. Although it turned out much shorter than I had liked, the match established the caliber of 4CW’s talent and hopefully set a mark for future exhibitions to pass by. Speaking of 4CW, Mr. Biron Sexton has been attributed with the task of rounding out the very best from 4CW and the Independents and prepare them for their limelight within the nbW ring. But this progress will be slow and full of difficulty as they try and fill the boots of so many before them. I have no doubt Sexton, with the assistance of our head trainer Jake Summers, and Michael O’Dell; will be able to bring us success. When it comes to Keegan and I, we have this understanding. I respect the guy, always have ever since my days seeing him fight the very best. This same understanding passes to William Arthur Reagan. The nbW Hall of Famer. So really for me to ask that they stay out of their respective protégé/students match, it really was not that much to ask. Was it? What can I say about the legend Andrew Martin that hasn’t been said before? He’s a future Hall of Famer. In fact he’s on the extended-ballot list for the inductions later this year, thanks to Napoli’s oversight in addressing the inductees for the previous few years. Needless to say, I respect Martin greatly. His work in the WWR over a decade ago is still some of the best technical wrestling I have seen to this date. So when I heard he was set to take on a 4CW talent by the name of Johannes Antonius de Castronovo, I knew we had no reason to worry. Now while I was right, I was shocked to see how well the rookie withstood the assaults of the Veteran. Sure what you may have seen at home was Martin having the upperhand 90% of the match. However if not for Hulu’s poorly executed timing for their extended advertisement, you would have seen Johannes take early control of the match, and even take Martin to a limit not many have been able to accomplish before. I expect just like Alexandre, this Johannes individual will be worth keeping an eye on as a future nbW Superstar. Again, certain things should not be broadcast. I am aware that Mr. Reagan had some Italian visitors and spoke of old times long past, however—that was supposed to be between them and not for your eyes. I do apologize for any confusion on the matter. When you look at the hulking appearance of Harley Grimm and his Voodoo witch doctor woman Azhram, you have to wonder; as fans of course, just why and how we are keeping them on board and under control. The short answer: Barely. Matt Haddon, good kid, but sometimes not the smartest when it comes to the circle of life. I sat back and watched as Grimm manhandled Haddon. One hand on the speaker ready to call O’Dell and Security out, while my other hand gripped the side of my oak desk. You can surmise that I was more than happy to see the return of nbW’s own towering monster in the form of Torment. Grimm’s weaksauce when compared to the actions, tribulations, and respect of that man. And yes I said weaksauce. Which speaking of respect brings me to another man. Lunatic. He came to me prior to Ghosts and presented a plan he would like to run with. That very plan was approved after some slight alterations. So to say I was shocked that he obviated from the plan and steered it another direction, is putting it nicely. I am not sure what his plans are now, but thankfully he met the seven foot three roadblock known as Spike Saunders. Of course, even the giant can not always squash the small. I have no doubt that Saunders would have hit his Spiked finisher maneuver to call it a night, if not for that fans interference. We’re still investigating into identity and purpose of that devout follower of Voss. However moments after being escorted through the curtains to the back, the lighting in the guerrilla position dropped and moments later returned with no sign of the fan down either corridor. I will say this. Max Hopper is a huge hit with the fans. What happened to him at the hands of whomever was laughing. And I do have a guess as to who that was. But what happened to him will not go unnoticed. We will find Hopper and bring him back to you the fans. Moving forward to our Main Event, the World Championship on the line for the first time since SLAM’s inaugural start. We last saw Amore defend the prestige against Proteus at Ghosts. Perhaps some background is needed to set the stage. For those that have forgotten, Ali Amore capture this very championship on his stunning re-debut on Memorial Day last year. Now no more than a week from Memorial Day the World Champion faces off against the man that could still be champion if not for Xander Napoli’s wacky rules. Now onto the match itself. I tried to enjoy this as a Wrestling fan, not just the promoter. But I did have two voices constantly in my head, courtesy of William Reagan and Keegan. I will be honest here folks, deep down I had this creeping feeling that Ravage was about to represent this company once more. That V For Victory out of no where signaled the end to me. Thankfully it was not so. Amore was able to over come the Human Steam Engine’s assault and land his picture perfect Frog Splash across the chest of RaVage. It should have ended there. And to the thousands watching around the world on Hulu dot com. It did end there. Our direct Live broadcast feed was cut. Now what happened next I was unaware of as yours truly worked diligently to get someone with more than a PHD on the phone and get the show restored. Apparently as I was informed gleefully by Reagan, RaVage overcame the Columbian miracle and was crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion. Courtesy of Mr. John C. Willis. I would like to stress and make this clear: This has not yet been declared the official ruling. Fans I assure you—you have not heard the last of Ali Amore. I will be addressing what happened soon. As for the outage, I can not apologize enough to our loyal viewers. We hope to have more information on what happened and why as soon as possible. For all I know, knowing the type of acts WAR is known for, I would not be surprised if he had a hand in the stream ending. But even that should be above the Hall of Famer. I will go ahead and end this Perspective for the moment. Look for futures thoughts from your head honcho behind the scenes soon, as well as covering the previous two editions of SLAM! As I end this I would like to leave you with a quick breakdown of the matches, and Thank you. Stay tuned to thenbw.com. Good night and have a safe Memorial Day weekend.
